Why should I join OPT-In Dental Laboratory Cooperative?

As the owner of a small dental laboratory you have nothing to lose and everything to gain because member benefits can easily outweigh costs. As a member, you’ll receive “big lab buying power,” marketing assistance, new technology assistance and national brand recognition that only the biggest laboratories can afford. Your membership will help Dentists in your area see you as a partner in care, because as an OPT-in Dental Laboratory, your brand assures that patients are always your first and foremost concern.

Are you just a buying group?

Far from it! We all see the advantage in using group purchasing to lower costs. But we also want to help you lower your expenses even further through more efficient production methods, and then, help you grow your revenues through effective marketing. This is about growing revenues and lowering costs for even greater profitability. A true end-to-end solution.

What kind of marketing support will I receive?

As the management team, 80% of our time will be spent marketing members to dentists. Our marketing efforts can include daily message posting to clinical internet communities, such as Dental Town, articles for publication, lectures, press releases, display ads in dentist journals, laboratory handouts and direct to dentist clinical newsletters.

Why is it so inexpensive?

Lowering the cost of membership allows us to help more owners of small laboratories collectively harness their power. That will give OPT-In members the strength in numbers they need to be most effective. Additionally, through the collective purchases by members, our corporate partners will be making contributions to our advertising pool that will offset costs.

How does the buying Cooperative work?

Unlike large groups, individual owners of small laboratories have never been able to command best price and service. Now you can, simply by making your purchases from the excellent companies that are partnering with us and our vision. You can view our partners list on the Partners page.

Who makes up the advisory committee and what do they do?

The best way for the Cooperative to serve the small laboratory owner is to have member representation. The role of the advisory committee is to provide input on key decisions, assure transparency and make sure we never stray from our stated purpose.

How long will it take to get my money back?

We can’t guarantee how many dentists will be attracted to each laboratory. However, we expect the savings you gain from group purchasing discounts will help your membership dues be a wash. In fact, it might only take one new account per year to make gains. But we expect our members to experience more than that.

Can this actually work?

Yes! Every large laboratory began as a small laboratory that attracted customers from others. However, most large labs are not the least expensive, and have limited ability to provide the close customer contact that helped them grow. That is your opportunity and how we will help to make this work for you.

Is there anything I’ m expected to do?

Not really. Make sure you protect your purchasing power by buying from our partners. We’ll manage all the national marketing, laboratory referrals and promotional materials for your laboratory. Keep in mind, the more energy you put into your local marketing effort the more accounts you’re likely to gain. Our national brand awareness campaign will make that easier.

Is there anything else I should know?

Opportunities like this don’t come often. Being the first of its kind, many will take notice and wait. One thing is very clear: If we do the same things we have always done, we’ll get the same results. This is a game-changer, a chance for the owners of small dental laboratories to take control of their futures, grow their businesses, be more profitable and have more fun.
